Celebrate......we are Canadians now!!!!

Monday August 25th, our long awaited citizenship ceremony took place in Barrie, ON. We are so thankful towards the Lord for the privilege to live in a wonderful country like Canada, welcoming and accepting, kind and gentle, generous, peaceful and peacekeeping, embracing the diversity and dignity of all people....and so much more! One can write volumes .... we have fallen in love with awesome Canada! There were people from 19 countries involved in the ceremony, and we met another new South African family too. On the left is our 21 y.o. son Albert, and on the right our dear friends Marten and Anne Mol of Aurora, ON.
A toast on a positive hopeful future with our new friends the Van Wyks (only 5 weeks in Canada from SA) and our dear friends the Mols who helped us immensely adjusting to Canadian culture and understanding, valueing and appreciating our Dutch heritage better during the last 3 years. Below we are in front of our home in Newmarket, ON with the red and white petunias we planted this year to celebrate our citizenship. I missed one day of the C2C tour, but this was the best reason one could imagine!!
